We’re Getting Married!!!

It all started when John visited Malta at the tender age of 20 on a football tour (and drank too copiously to have any memories to relay). Eight years later, when John was asked to relocate to Malta for work, he looked back on that football tour and thought this was the change of scenery he needed to start living his best single life.

That lasted three weeks, until John met Kristina in August 2018 and asked her if she was available to be his guest at a wedding in September 2019 (thanks David & Ashni) and the rest, as they say, is history.

From their first (eight-hour long) date pub-crawling through Valletta, Kristina and John felt disarmingly comfortable around each other and did not want their time together to end. Within the first few hours, John had shared some gruesome stories about contracting gastric flu in Kenya and Kristina had cancelled another date she’d accidentally double-booked. Lots has changed but, clearly, not wanting their time together to end has not.

Two years, twelve countries, four continents, one little Oreo and one pandemic later is all it took for John to realise that Kristina was The One. John decided he would propose at Christmas – Kristina’s favourite day of the year, bar none. He found the perfect ring, came up with a plan, and was feeling pretty confident up until a week before, when Kristina made him watch Serendipity with her (as she does every year at Christmas) and remarked how an ill-fitting engagement ring is “a sign”. Kristina regrets saying this in hindsight but is simultaneously relieved that the ring was a perfect fit. John soldiered bravely on with his plan and at midnight on Christmas day, got down on one knee in front of the Christmas tree and asked Kristina to marry him. Kristina cried for a while leaving John a little confused, but she eventually said yes, which brings us to today.

If you’re reading this, we’d love for you to be part of our special day. Picture it, COVID will be a thing of the past and we’ll drink, dance and be merry and reminisce about how the pandemic helped us realise what really matters in life (and similar cliches), and it will be the Best. Day. Ever.
